Smart Skills Ltd is looking for talented and qualified person to fill the positions of Recovery Supervisors at its Kampala and Mbarara offices.
The Recovery Supervisor will ensure proper management of assigned credit facilities on behalf of our clients.

1 will be posted to the Mbarara office, and the other will be posted to the Kampala office.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

REPORTS TO: Recovery Manager

Maintain and monitor portfolios that have been assigned by Recovery Manager, ensuring that payments are maximized and the recovery officers in the team are effectively supervised
Ensure that recovery disciplines are followed e.g. daily huddles, phone calls, PTP reports, etc for maximum efficiency
Manage the activities and disciplines of the Recovery Officers
Supervise the performance of the Recovery Officers
Compute the monthly commissions for all officers
Ensure that customer demand letters and notices are issued on time, therefore must maintain a dairy
Manage escalations from the Recovery Officers, but ensure that payments are made as and when they fall due. All negotiations must be done in the interest of Smart Skills Limited
Collaborate with Recovery Manager for accounts that require tougher actions and on asset disposal matters
Train, mentor and coach staff under their supervision on the best practices in the recovery of delinquent loans.
Manage portfolios, reports and payments from clients

Requisite Skills for this Role

Good knowledge and skills in data analysis and management.
Fluent in both oral and written communication in English.
Attention to detail is critical.
Demonstrates high integrity and sense of confidentiality.
Results oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
Flexible and willing to work for long hours.
Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
High Level of Customer Service.
Good negotiation skills.
Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Good Time Management.
Ability to drive and/or ride a motorcycle.

Qualifications

EDUCATION LEVEL: Bachelor’s Degree

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Commerce, Business or equivalent from a recognised institution.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

At least one year of relevant work experience in credit or debt recovery with a busy financial institution.
Thorough understanding of bank credit recovery practices and the Mortgage Act will be required.
