The Recovery Manager will ensure proper management of assigned credit facilities on behalf of our clients.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

Maintain and monitor portfolios that have been assigned to Smart Skills Ltd by ensuring that payments are maximized and the staff in the field are effectively supervised
Ensure that loan portfolio data is managed effectively and daily, weekly, monthly reports are submitted on time both to Smart Skills and to the clients
Manage the relationships with the client’s representatives and ensure that business with existing clients grows
Manage the data: run daily internal and external reports
Supervise the performance Recovery supervisors and recovery officers
Compute the monthly commissions for all officers
Manage the relationships with financial institutions i.e., portfolio allocation, recovery, reconciliations to follow up of Smart Skills payment
Ensure that customer demand letters and notices are issued on time therefore must maintain a dairy
Manage escalations from the lower-level staff but ensure that payments are made as and when they fall due. All negotiations must be done in the interest of Smart Skills Limited
Collaborate with Managing Director for accounts that require tougher actions
Train, mentor and coach staff under their supervision on the best practices in the recovery of delinquent loans.
Negotiate with Debtors and ensure that the Debtors repay the bad debts to our clients.

Requisite Skills for this Role

Good knowledge and skills in data analysis and management.
Fluent in both oral and written communication in English.
Attention to detail is critical.
Demonstrates high integrity and sense of confidentiality.
Results oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
Flexible and willing to work for long hours.
Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
High Level of Customer Service.
Good negotiation skills.
Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Good Time Management.
Ability to drive and/or ride a motorcycle.

Qualifications

EDUCATION LEVEL: Bachelor’s Degree

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Commerce, Business or equivalent from a recognised institution.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of three years of relevant work experience in credit or debt recovery with a busy financial institution.
Thorough understanding of bank credit recovery practices and the Mortgage Act will be required.
